A Detailed World of Warcraft Cooking Guide
Cooking is a great way to earn cash in WoW and it is also one of the more enjoyable professions in my opinion. In this guide I am going to give you a few pointers to improve your cooking skills and in more importantly, make a nice amount of gold.
As you start WoW you’ll be in a small “sub-zone”. In this area you can’t start your cooking trade so just focus on saving a little money. Once you reach level 5 you can start your cooking profession.
When you’re ready to move out of the starting area, talk to the guard and follow his instructions to the cooking trainer. Your first recipe will be spice bread. If you have the money, buy the ingredient you need from a cooking supplier and make the bread till its green colored.
When you are questing you can often find suitable cooking ingredients. Even if you don’t need them right away, its sometimes a good idea to hang onto them because they will be of use later and you’ll save a bit of money not having to buy them. Egg’s and meat are a couple of common ingredients you can find during quests.
One of the achievements in WoW is the number of recipes you know how to cook. To make this easier, always make sure you check when talking to NPC’s to see if they have any cooking recipes for sale. If they do, try to buy them if you can.
If you find you are storing too many ingredients that you don’t use, sell a few on the Auction House - this is obviously better than abandoning them - at least you’ll make some cash.
The best way to make money with cooking is by selling items that give a stat boost. You may find these dishes difficult to make at first, but stick at it as in the end you will earn some serious gold with these meals.
The combination of professions that you have is important. I have found fishing to be a great combination with cooking as the work very well hand in hand. You’ll find that you need fish to make many of the most lucrative recipes.
You can take the most advantage out of your cooking profession by eating the foods you make to boost your stats and restore your hit points after battles. I suggest you sell your in demand foods in the Auction House for gold and master the fishing profession as this works very well with cooking.
