Thanks to cable HBO TV, True Blood has returned to our screens for a second season ” the aptly named Season 2. It began on the 14th June and pulled in the largest amount of viewers to any TV show on HBO since the finale of the Sopranos a couple of years back.
Dead and Gone is the 9th book of Charlaine Harris series of books which are aptly named the Southern Vampire Mysteries, or as many would prefer ” Sookie Stackhouse series. This particular book along with the previous one (From Dead to Worse) has been adapted into an HBO TV series called True Blood, the former currently being shown as Season 2.
Stephen King has written dozens of novels, both recent and from decades ago. The Dead Zone is one of King’s oldest books, as it was written in the late 1970s. The main character is John Smith, who gains clairvoyant abilities after recovering from an accident, and the story focuses on him and his powers.
Time Travel novels are unique in the sense that they offer the reader so many different possibilities. Through a time travel novel, a reader may see the past but hold on to his modern perspective. Alternatively, he may get to see what the very far future holds for us. Throughout the novels, he could envision interacting with famous historical characters. Time Travel even enables us to ask the ‘What If?’ question: we can change certain key points in our personal or global history, and see what would’ve happened as a result. But most importantly, Time Travel enables creating sophisticated stories that may have the potential to challenge any type of reader, by weaving a complex web of past and present.
Each year students flock to the college bookstore to purchase the various textbooks that they require for their classes. Little do these students realize that, in doing so, they are throwing good money away. As unbelievable as it may seem textbooks, in some cases, actually cost as much, if not more, than tuition.

In a short and blunt rehearsal of Jane Austen’s classic story about Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy, I wish to show my comparison between two films that have been created depicting the romance. Of course it will be the 2005 version of Pride and Prejudice starring Keira Knightley and the time honored A&E version produced in 1995. This is by no means an attempt to prove one superior to the other, nor is it a thoroughly detailed analysis, but merely a general overview.
